Invited by VEMEX, representatives of Gazprom export Moscow visited Prague. A number of negotiations concerning Russian-Ukrainian matters, the European Union and also further cooperation opportunities took place. Also on the agenda: a press conference.

In the St. Nicolas dome a benefit concert of the Happy Day Quintet group took place. The children choir Iuventus, gaude!, the winner of a global choir competition, joined the concert as a guest.

The General Meeting took place, approving the economic results for the year 2008 based on final accounts.

A meeting of the Council of the International Association of Commercial and Scientific-Technical Cooperation of Gas Companies took place with VEMEX holding a speech on “January Gas Crisis Situation from the Perspective of a European Supplier and Customer”.

The Finnish GASUM company organized an international hockey tournament of gas companies called “Phantom Cup”, where VEMEX teamed up with the Finnish colleagues.

VEMEX took part in a conference on the remodeling of the Ukrainian gas infrastructure, which was a part of an official journey of Mr. Říman, minister of industry and trade of the Czech Republic.

In the Floret education center in Průhonice we organized a workshop for our customers bearing the name “Securing Natural Gas Supplies”. Our invitation was accepted by a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the Energy Regulating Office, the consultancy firm ENA and a number of journalists.

For the year 2009 our customer portfolio has grown by almost 50%.
We have successfully overcome the gas crisis caused by a conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Our customers were not affected by this crisis in terms of security of gas supplies.
