Our Company
VEMEX s.r.o. was founded in April of 2001 and right from the beginning its focus has been on the energy sector. In 2003 we obtained a license for trading natural gas and electricity.
Two years later, new shareholders entered our company – important firms active mainly in the gas industry in the Federal Republic of Germany and Austria as well as a Swiss investment firm.
In spring 2006 we have concluded a contract with OOO Gazprom export Moscow on natural gas supplies for the Czech gas market. The acquisition activities started immediately afterwards and already in the same year the first supplies started. Just a year later (in 2007) a long-term contract was signed with Gazprom export Moscow on natural gas supplies for the years 2008-1012 with an option on further prolongation.
The entry of VEMEX into the Czech gas market can be regarded as very successful, whereby the preconditions for further growth of our market share are already set. Very soon we will develop our activity into further market segments as we seek to supply gas also to small customers and to expand our activities within new industrial and energy projects.
Also, we are planning to enter the Slovak market. The first step of our preparations was the incorporation of a subsidiary, VEMEX Energo s.r.o., which is headquartered in Bratislava.

Our activities encompass also expert work, be it in the Czech Republic or abroad.
We are members of the following associations:
- International Association of Commercial and Scientific-Technical Cooperation of Gas Companies (Kiev)
- Club of Gas Enterpreneurs of the Czech Republic
- Chamber of Economic Relationships with CIS
- Middle European, East European and Middle Asian Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Rep.
- The non-governmental and non-profit organization EBC European Business Congress e.V.
- Czech-German Commerce of Commerce and Industry
Also, we have founded the European Business Academy Prague – Berlin and actively take part in negotiations of Intergovernmental Commissions organized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Czech Rep.
